Fellowship & Education Opportunities
At Central, we offer a variety of different opportunities to be in community with others. Some of these opportunities are more social in nature, others are more educational and some are a mixture. For upcoming events, please see the most recent edition of the newsletter or look at the church calendar. Below are some of our regular gatherings.
Bible Study
Our bible study group usually meets twice a month in the lounge in the basement of the church. We study scripture together and pray for one another. Please check the calendar or current issue of the Tidings to see when will next be meeting.
Men’s Group
Once a month a group of guys from central get together and talk, listen, share and support each other. We often go out for a beer and some of us will get something to eat while we visit. From time to time we move the location to see different places and we have learned that some places are easier for some of the guys to get to than others. We telegraph where we are meeting in the monthly newsletter and by email for those who wish to get a last minute reminder. We also review the previous months meeting highlights and the upcoming meeting in our monthly article. Its low key and with some but very little program. Join us for the fun.
Young Adult Group
Young adults at Central are invited to come and share a pint while connecting with other young adults from Central. This group meets monthly at a variety of locations. Check our calendar or current newsletter for the next meeting or search on Facebook for Central Lutheran Young Adults.
Parenting Group
This group meets monthly to discuss the joys and trials of parenting. It is facilitated by a professional parent educator and members receive support and encouragement in their parenting. The Parenting Group meets on the second Sunday of the month at 10 am in the upstairs meeting room of the Parish Hall. The group takes a break during the summer.
Adult Forums
On Sunday mornings we offer opportunities for adults to learn and grow in their faith. Topics range from current issues to bible study to theological questions. Some classes are led by a speaker and others are more discussion oriented. Check the calendar for upcoming classes. Typically Adult Forums meet at 10 am in the parish hall on Sunday mornings (and we’ll have the coffee on).
Spring Retreat
Central hosts an annual retreat which is an opportunity for learning and spiritual growth. This one day event includes child care and is a wonderful opportunity for refreshment and renewal.
